Web 2.0 Tool Smackdown: actiTIME

My Web 2.0 Tool Smackdown is on actiTIME, a browser-based time, project, and productivity tracker. The tracker is provided at no cost for small teams from 1 to 3 individuals and slowly increases at a stable monthly price depending upon how many users are included. There is an option for unlimited users at a rate of $1250 per month.

*Please excuse the audio in the beginning!*

This app surprised me as it is accessible by phone app and browser. No software is needed to be installed on a desktop. In addition, the application has a wide variety of uses from tracking basic HR information such as time, PTO, sick time, and screen time in addition to general project and time tracking. There are options to collaborate within the application for teams to work together with ease. I was amazed by the number of security protections within the interface which allow the owner to restrict what users can see, set password limits, wipe passwords, and lockout individuals.

The time-track interface is similar to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. The time between projects can be easily adjusted with a click and drag. The interface is incredibly user-friendly, with the ability to add a start time by clicking the highlighted box that pops up directly on the calendar. I find the additional interfaces, tasks, reports, and users equally as easy to use. The actiTIME website has multitudes of resources regarding their product, from brief articles to videos. There’s also an offer to schedule a time with customer support to learn how to use the product in full!

I find this product immensely useful, especially if I ever return to active commission work.
